Earlier today,July 27th 2024,The Honourable Minister of Innovation Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji Nwakaibie, flagged off the construction of a Solar PV assembling plant at Ihunakwagu community in Akpugo, Nkanu West Local Government Area.
Speaking, Chief Nnaji emphasised that, solar PV as a renewable energy source is sustainable, generates electricity with zero emissions, cost-effective and will reduce over reliance on national grid.
The people of Ihunakwagu community Akpugo, in return thanked the Honourable Minister for being magnanimous enough to site such a huge project in their town, which will not only give the people of Enugu State an alternative to over dependence on national grid but will also create employment for Ndi Enugu.
The Minister was accompanied by DG/CEO of Energy commission (ECN) Dr Mustapha Abdullahi, State Chairman APC Bar, Chief Ugochukwu Agballah, Hon Chimaobi Atu, Member Representing Enugu North and South Federal Constituency, First estate of the realms and many stake holders from all walks of life.
