Enugu state Governor Bar, Peter Mbah has described the Local government elections as the most peaceful in the state.
The Governor made this remarks on Saturday afternoon after casting his vote at the polling unit 007 Mbaguzo Ashishi Owo in Nkanu East local government Area.
Accreditation and voting commenced at about 12.15pm.
The Governor who waited patiently at the queue for his turn to cast his vote, described the excerise as democracy in action , and expressed readiness to support those who emerged winners irrespective of their political parties.
He commended the mass turnout of voters describing it as people showing commitment to democracy.
The governor also said his government supports the local government autonomy which he said will aid development at the grassroot.
In an interview, the PG of Owo Town chief John Ogbu okeke and the Crown Prince of OWO, Chief Joseph Nnajieze commended the people for coming out en-mass to vote. They described the on going elections as peaceful .
