Yesterday, we launched the Google Hustle Academy; a platform that provides businesses with the skills and tools needed to compete, scale, and contribute to Nigeria’s economic prosperity through our partnership with Google with the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology.
In a world where technology drives growth, businesses must innovate to remain competitive. That is why this program is so important—it provides SMEs with the knowledge, digital tools, and strategies to scale, compete, and lead in a fast-changing global economy. Most especially because small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of our economy, contributing nearly 48% of our GDP and employing almost 80% of our workforce.
As a Ministry, we are fully committed to fostering an ecosystem where innovation thrives. Our vision aligns with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, ensuring that technology and innovation remain the foundation of Nigeria’s economic transformation. From agriculture to healthcare, infrastructure to industrialization, we are leveraging science and technology to solve critical challenges and unlock new opportunities for prosperity.
I congratulate the businesses that participated in the initial launch. I hope that the knowledge and skills you gain will elevate your potential to transform your businesses and, by extension, our economy.
