The Muslim and Christian youths annual conference scheduled on February 27, 2025, an integration for good leadership initiative at the International Conference Centre Enugu.
Theme of the programme was “Don’t Give Up Nigeria”. The Director General National Orientation Agency Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu was special guest of honor ably represented by the state Director NOA Enugu Mrs. Clara Chinyere Nwachukwu.
However, it was disheartening to found out later in the day that the programme was not going to be hold after spending some hours at the venue and there was no sign of notification about the programme.
It was the manager of the venue for the programme that clarified the NOA Enugu State Director representing DG NOA that no such event was booked there.
The NOA media Officer, Emeka Omeye, also went to Base event centre Aguleri street Independence Layout Enugu that was attached as another venue for the programme to enquire if it will hold there but to no avail.
Despite the situation at hand, the state Director NOA Enugu still encouraged Nigerians to renew the commitment to the ideals that define us as a nation, and among these, are; our national values and symbols, including the National Anthem, they hold great significance.
The National Anthem is more than just a song; it is a declaration of who we are and what we stand for and embodies our history, our struggles, and our aspirations, it calls us to duty, reminding us of our responsibility to uphold unity, peace and progress, every time we sing it, we reaffirm our loyalty to Nigeria and our dedication to making it a better place, Mrs. Nwachukwu said.
The NOA Enugu state Director also advised youths about integrity, service and the courage to do what is right, even when it is difficult. As a young Nigerians, you have the power to shape the future of this country by embracing values that promote unity, respect, and progress, she stated.
Dignitaries that are supposed to grace the event are the Executive Governor of Niger State, as chairman, His Excellency Umaru Mohammed Bago. Host; His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah Executive Governor Enugu State, Prof. Ilyasu Tochukwu Usman, Bishop Callistus Valentine Onaga, Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Hajia Aisha Buhari, former first lady Federal Republic Of Nigeria and many others.
Let us rise above our differences and work together to build the Nigeria we envision, a nation of peace, justice, and opportunity for all, the state Director added.
