The Enugu State Government has lauded the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) for the arrest of fleeing suspected ritualist and kidnap kingpin, Obi Levi Obieze, along the Badagry-Seme Road.
In a statement on Friday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, the government confirmed the demolition of the suspect’s mansions in his Umumba Ndiagu country home, Ezeagu LGA, on May 27, 2025.
The action was carried out in accordance with Section 315 (Second Amendment) of the Enugu State Criminal Code, which mandates the forfeiture and demolition of properties linked to kidnapping.
The government assured that Obieze would face the full weight of the law and reiterated its zero tolerance for criminality. It also praised community vigilance and urged local leaders to report suspicious activities, warning that anyone shielding criminals would be treated as an accomplice.
