Major Defection Hits Labour Party in Enugu as Hon Atu moves to APC In a major political realignment that sent shockwaves down the spines of political gladiators and observers, the face of Labour Party in Enugu State, Hon Chimaobi Sam Atu, few minutes ago defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the floor of the National Assembly.
In a letter read by Speaker of the House, RT. Hon Abbas Tajudeen, Hon Atu who represents Enugu North and South Federal Constituency said his defection was necessitated by the persistent crises rocking the Labour Party.
Atu added that given the ending crisis in the party, he had to align with APC to serve his people better.
According to him “all of you have seen the crisis in the party and grass lack of direction.
My interest is to serve my people in the most modest way I can.
Again, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated his commitment to Ndi Igbo with signing of the South East Development Commission and other significant projects”
