Dangote Refinery Cuts Petrol Price Again, Now N820 Per Litre

Dangote Refinery has announced another reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), marking the second downward adjustment in just two weeks.

In a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, the company revealed that the new ex-depot price has been reduced from N840 to N820 per litre. The updated price takes effect immediately.

This latest adjustment follows a similar move on July 1, when the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery lowered its price to N840 from a previous rate. The consistent reductions are seen as part of Dangote’s efforts to drive down pump prices and stabilize the market.

Retail Prices Drop Across Abuja, Lagos

Following the initial cut, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) had reduced its retail price to N910 per litre in Abuja.

In response to the new template, Dangote’s retail partner, MRS filling station, also adjusted its pump prices to N905 per litre in Abuja and N895 per litre in Lagos.

Industry watchers believe the downward trend could spark further price revisions across retail stations nationwide as competition increases and refined fuel supply improves.
