MACBAN Alleges Killing of Four Herders in Plateau Attack

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has alleged that four herders were killed and one injured in an attack in Fili village, Doemak district of Qua’an Pan Local Government Area, Plateau State.

MACBAN’s treasurer in Qua’an Pan, Saeedu Abdurrahman, confirmed the incident to journalists in Jos on Thursday. He said the herders were grazing their cattle on Tuesday evening when they were ambushed by suspected natives of the community.

According to him, the assailants specifically targeted the victims, killed them, and fled without rustling any cattle.

Abdurrahman further disclosed that while relatives were burying the deceased, another group of armed men attempted to attack the mourners but were repelled by security personnel escorting the bodies to the cemetery.

A relative of the victims, Shanono Muhammad, also recounted the incident, noting that one of those killed was a young boy who had accompanied the herders to learn cattle rearing.
