Launching the DELTA-2 Second Call for Proposals – Uche Nnaji

Today, Chief Hon. Uche Nnaji, Minister of Innovation Science and Technology had the privilege of launching the DELTA-2 Second Call for Proposals—a program that stands at the very heart of science, innovation, and national development.

Implemented by PICTT in partnership with NASENI, this initiative is designed to accelerate applied research that will generate new products, new processes, and new services—tangible results that boost competitiveness, create jobs, and open markets for Nigeria at home and abroad.

The priority areas—agriculture, renewable energy, mining, health, advanced manufacturing, digital mobility, climate technology, and defence innovations—align strongly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, powering the knowledge-driven economy we are building.

Through DELTA-2, innovators and companies will not only access funding support (up to 70% of project costs) but also connect to international research networks and markets. This is research for impact—not for the shelves.

I commend NASENI, PICTT, and all our partners for their commitment, and I call on Nigerian researchers, entrepreneurs, and innovators: seize this opportunity. The world is moving fast, and Nigeria cannot afford to be left behind.

Together, we will ensure Nigeria is not just a consumer of technology, but a leader and exporter of solutions. 🇳🇬🌍
