Mbah Hails Enugu Attorney General Udeh on SAN Rank, Says Justice Sector Anchors His Administration’s Success

Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, has congratulated the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Kingsley Udeh, on his elevation to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), describing the justice sector as the pillar upon which his administration’s achievements rest.

Speaking at a state reception held in honour of Dr. Udeh at the weekend, Governor Mbah said the recognition was a reflection of dedication, excellence, and integrity, which have continued to define the Attorney General’s service to the state.

According to him, the justice ministry has played a critical role in ensuring the smooth implementation of his administration’s policies and reforms.

> “Today’s celebration goes beyond personal recognition. It shows that hard work pays,” Mbah said. “Everything we have achieved as a government is made possible by a resilient and dedicated team, with the Honourable Attorney General at the center. We cannot move faster than the law, and he ensures we always act within its framework.”

The governor also attributed Enugu’s growing appeal to investors to the professionalism and efficiency of the Attorney General’s office, noting that Dr. Udeh’s prompt review of contracts and legal frameworks has helped build investor confidence.

> “If we have attracted investments, it’s because the Attorney General and his team work diligently to ensure all legal processes are sound. My job is to ask, ‘Has it been reviewed? Are we protected?’ Once he says yes, I sign,” Mbah added.

In his remarks, Dr. Udeh expressed gratitude to Governor Mbah, the state cabinet, the judiciary, and the people of Enugu for their prayers and encouragement.

He said the SAN title was not just a personal milestone but an opportunity to expand his capacity to serve, pledging to continue upholding the rule of law and delivering justice effectively.

> “This rank comes with greater responsibility and expectations, and I intend to meet them,” Udeh stated. “To the young people, I say there is no impossibility in your dreams. Stay focused, consistent, and you will rise to any height.”

The event also featured a presentation by the Enugu East Senatorial Zone Council of Traditional Rulers, led by His Majesty, Igwe Julius Nnaji (Odezuluigbo II) of Nike, who commended Governor Mbah for his visionary leadership and transformative impact on the state.

> “Your Excellency, we are proud of your courage, vision, and the speed with which you are changing the face of Enugu State,” Igwe Nnaji said. “You have restored confidence in governance and given our people renewed hope through your policies and developmental projects.”

The royal fathers presented an Award of Excellence for Citizenship Empowerment to Governor Mbah, describing it as recognition of his outstanding commitment to development, innovation, and the welfare of citizens.

The event was graced by members of the state executive council, the judiciary, traditional rulers, and other dignitaries from across the state.
