Governor Peter Mbah has restated his commitment in making Enugu the safest for foreign investors and Nigerias to do business.
This assertion was made known on Saturday in Enugu at the Town hall meeting with a cross section of various professionals, associations, Unions as well as religious, traditional and political leaders in the state.
The town hall meeting whose theme was “Governance issue’s, the journey so far”, had the governor talk of his achievement so far.
Mbah said is administration has invested so much in security which has yielded alot of positive results in the state. He said the sit-at – home order which had eaten negatively into the state’s economy has been stopped by his administration, and the incident of security men been attacked had also been put under control.
The Governor said through this act, his administration had totally recovered the confidence of the people and visitors to the overall security and safety in the state.
The Governor said in the past 18 months, his administration had invested in procuring 100 distress response squad (DRS) vehicles and mounted high-tech security cameras to check mate insecurity.
The state government also built and equipped the newly security command and control centers that monitors all the high-tech security cameras on the roads, bus stops, populated areas and major highways.
He said plans are underway to replicate such security centres and architecture in semi-urban and rural Areas and communities throughout the state. Also, plans are been made to provide more internal security vehicles for Nigerian Army, Navy, Air force, Police, the DSS, and the civil defence Corp.
The Governor thanked all the security outfit in the state their commitment and the wonderful security work they are doing in the state.
Mbah went ahead in speaking on Education, health, water,transportation, tourism and said what his administration has done concerning this various sectors.
In Education he pointed out his administration determination in completing the on going smart schools in the state which he said his administration has put a lot of money to make Education strives in the state.
Also on the provision of health facilities, he talked about the type 11 health centres that are been constructed in all the local government wards in the state, which he said will make health care accessible to citizens of the state
On the provision of water, the Governor said his administration is determined in making sure that water runs in every home and the process is still on course.
In the Area of tourism, the governor sited a lot of on -going projects his administration is doing presently, he sited, the Enugu International Conference center, and other tourist sites which when completed will make the state a site for tourist attraction.
On transportation, the government has invested a lot on the transportation sector. He talked about the ongoing construction of bus terminals at strategic Areas of the state.
Questions were asked by citizens from the various sectors the Governor has talked about, which the governor gave answers to and his determination to making sure all his promises to the people of the state is achieved at the end of his administration.
