RE: FALSE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST MINISTER OF INNOVATION, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CHIEF UCHE NNAJI — A CASE OF POLITICAL PROPAGANDA

The attention of the Concerned Nkanu Youths has been drawn to a misleading and politically motivated report currently trending on social media and some online platforms, falsely alleging that the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has disowned the Bachelor of Science degree of our illustrious son and Honourable Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Chief (Hon.) Uche Geoffrey Nnaji.

We wish to categorically and unequivocally debunk this malicious claim. The said publication is false, mischievous, and the handiwork of desperate political propagandists who are threatened by the Honourable Minister’s rising profile and integrity.

For the avoidance of doubt, the Registrar of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, has formally acknowledged Chief Uche Nnaji as a bona fide student and graduate of the University ab initio, confirming beyond question the authenticity of his academic record. The purported letter dated October 2, 2025, claiming otherwise, is a fabricated document, lacking the official seal, format, and verifiable reference typical of UNN’s legitimate communications.

It is unfortunate that certain politically driven individuals have resorted to dragging the name of a globally respected institution like UNN into cheap blackmail and partisan propaganda. Their goal is to distract the Honourable Minister from his ongoing national efforts in promoting science, technology, and innovation under the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, through the Renewed Hope Agenda.

We, therefore, call on the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Prof. Simon Ortuanya, to rise above partisan distractions and focus on upholding the dignity, neutrality, and global reputation of the institution. As the custodian of one of Africa’s leading universities, his leadership must be directed toward academic excellence, innovation, and institutional integrity—not political intrigue.

As proud Nkanu youths, we reaffirm our unwavering support for Chief Uche Nnaji — a man of proven honour, intellect, and patriotism. His contributions to national development, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment remain visible and worthy of emulation.

We urge the public and media professionals to verify information from credible sources before publication and to desist from spreading baseless reports capable of tarnishing reputations and undermining national institutions.

Chief Uche Nnaji remains a symbol of hard work, innovation, and service, and no amount of propaganda can erase his legacy.
