Chief Uche Nnaji (Nwakaibie) the minister of innovation ,science and technology currently represents Enugu state in the federal Executive cabinet.

Chief Nnaji was recently applauded by some APC faithfuls in Enugu state for his giant strides in the innovation Ministry and beyond.

The Stakeholders took time to list out some of the major achievements as follows;

1)Facilitation of Federal civil service jobs for Ndi Enugu into various federal Ministries ,departments and Agencies.

  1. 2)Facilitation of appointment of 2 worthy sons of Enugu as Pro-chancellors/ Chairmen of governing councils of Federal University of Agriculture Umudike, Abia state and Alex Ekwueme University, Ndufu Alike, Ebonyi state
  2. 3)Research and Development of graphene as a stronger raw material to replace lithium in battery production
  3. 4)Launch of the national welding policy
  4. 5)Presidential approval for the procurement of 3 operational SAR satellites for Nigeria
  5. 6)The launch of the Tella Maize of anti drought for all year farming system
  6. 7)Presidential approval for the Abuja Tech-city and 1 in each of the geo-political zones of the country when completed will have 24hrs captive power point.
  7. 8)Ground breaking of glass production plant in Akure
  8. 9)Ground breaking of Agri PVC production factory in Akpugo
  9. 10)MOU and Presidential approval for a 2500 ton/pd Plant
  10. 11)MOU and Presidential approval for lithium battery manufacturing is Nigeria
  11. 12)Raw Material Research and Development Council under the Ministry of Innovation Science and Technology has developed and patent CHITOSAN. Chitosan is a naturally occurring polymer derived from the deacetylation of chitin, a key component of the exoskeletons of crustaceans, insects, and arachnids. It has a number of valuable properties and applications:

  13. Antimicrobial and antifungal properties
  14. Wound healing and tissue engineering
  15. Drug delivery and pharmaceutical applications
  16. 2)Cosmetics and skincare products
  17. 3)Food and beverage industry (e.g., as a food additive or packaging material)
  18. 4)Water treatment and wastewater management
  19. Agricultural applications (e.g., seed coatings, fertilizers)

Chitosan has a wide range of uses due to its unique properties, which make it an important biomaterial with a significant impact on various industries.
