APC Chairman Takes Firm Stand Against Anti-Party Activities in Enugu North

The APC in Enugu North has issued a stern warning to members engaging in anti-party conduct. Zonal Chairman, Hon. Chimezie Abugu (Bright), condemned recent remarks by Senator Chukwuka Utazi, who praised Governor Peter Mbahโ€™s administration, calling it a betrayal of the partyโ€™s core principles.

โ€œThis is not just misguided; it is a betrayal of the principles we stand for. We cannot allow our party to be undermined by those who publicly disgrace themselves by supporting the opposition,โ€ Abugu said.

Abugu emphasized that such actions will not be tolerated and warned that those engaging in anti-party activities will face severe consequences, including expulsion. He stressed that the APC is committed to unity and progress, stating, โ€œAnti-party activities are a direct attack on the unity of our party, and we will take action against anyone involved.โ€

Further, Abugu addressed members who act in bad faith, referencing the Igbo saying, โ€œNdi meremere n’iru, kwampete n’azu,โ€ meaning those who appear loyal but betray in private. โ€œThe time for tolerating such behavior is over,โ€ he declared, reiterating the partyโ€™s โ€œNo Mole Agenda.โ€

With the 2027 elections approaching, Abugu made it clear that only those fully committed to the APCโ€™s vision would remain in the party. โ€œIf you wish to sow discord, know that you will have no place in our party,โ€ he warned.

Abuguโ€™s statement echoes the words of Winston Churchill: โ€œThere is no greater thing you can do for your country than to remain loyal to your party.โ€
