The All progressive congress (APC) has called on the public to ignore the purported suspension of Hon. Ugochukwu Agballah and others declaring it as false, illegal, unconstitutional and handiwork of mischief markers .
This was made known to newsman after an expended state exco, local government ward and stakeholders meeting of the All progressive Congress held in the sate on Tuesday, 39th July, 2024. They said those behind the news of the purported suspension are a collective of expelled party members who are now working with external forces to distablize the party in the state.
The Deputy state chairman of APC Enugu State Chief Augustine Alumonnah while reading the resolution of the expanded state Exco, local government, ward and stakeholders meeting said the meeting was necessitated following a media announcement by Mr Alphonsus Nwafore the expelled Vice chairman Enugu West senatorial District who was sacked last year and the Publicity Secretary Mr Michael Ezeanyanwu for dereliction of duty and anti party activities last year.
He dismissed the news of the purported suspension as false, mischievous and lacking legal basis.
The Deputy state Chairman said Hon . Barr, Ugochukwu Agballah is and remains the state Chairman of APC same with the Deputy state chairman Chief Augustine Alumonah.
The party leader’s comprising of Dr Walter Madu the state Assistant secretary, Bar George Tagbo Ogara and Deputy Gubernatorial candidate, Sen, Chukwuka Utazi and others stated that those who announced the suspension have no understanding of the constitution of APC, which states that only a higher level of the party National Exco Zone can remove a member of the state executive and set conditions pedcedent.
The deputy state chairman also said the meeting was called in consultations with the party leaders and elders which includes Chief Uche Nnaji, the leader of APC in Enugu among others. He further stated that the party leaders would take further steps to protect the Corporate image of the party and extend further disciplinary and legal action against the expelled members and their collaborators.
The party enjoined the teeming party faithful and genernal public to disregard the purported suspension and be rest assured that the renewed mission and rebuilding of APC in the state since the emergence of the current chairman, Hon Ugochukwu Agballah and the state party leader, the Minister of innovation science and tech, chief Uche Nnaji Nwakabie is unstoppable.
