The State Director NOA Enugu Mrs.Clara Chinyere Nwachukwu with her management staff on October 17, 2024 organized a town hall meeting/stakeholders sensitization on the Re-adopted National Anthem, the National Values Charter and the National Identity Project at the Federal Secretariat Complex Hall Enugu, Enugu State.
In her opening remarks Mrs Clara Chinyere Nwachukwu made it clear that the sensitization is to reawaken that deep connection with our National Anthem. It is a call to all Nigerians to see the anthem not just as a formality before national events but as a compass directing our collective moral and social responsibilities, she stated.
The NOA Enugu State Director, clarified that the National Value Charter represents a comprehensive outline of the ethical standards and virtues that every Nigerian is expected to live by. These values serve as a foundation for building a strong, cohesive, and prosperous society. The National Value Charter is a roadmap for moral conduct, aiming to foster a sense of responsibility from the citizenry to the government, accountability and integrity in governance from the government to citizenry as well as navigating the business of building a united and prosperous Nigeria and allowing them to manifest in our individual personal life, Mrs Ugwu added.
She advised we look into ourselves as individuals and make necessary changes to make our country better. NOA has continued it’s efforts to promote patriotism through a robust engagement with stakeholders, focusing on the re-adopted National Anthem and the National Values Charter, the NOA Enugu State Director noted.
Director General NOA Mallam Lanre Issa Oniru represented by Mrs. Helen Babalola applauded the NOA Enugu State Director for delivering on her assigned duties with her staff. She stated that one major objective of this sensitization is for National Unity and Patriotism to bridge these divides by emphasizing what unites us as Nigerians.
The National Anthem and the National Value Charter serve as powerful tools for promoting this unity, she said.
“We must commit ourselves to the principles of inclusivity, tolerance, and respect for diversity as outlined in our National Value Charter. This requires not just government action, but the involvement of all stakeholders, including civil society, religious organizations, traditional leaders and most importantly, individual citizens.” She noted.
Chairman of CAN Enugu State Chapter Rev. Amb. Emmanuel Ositadinma Edeh, Destiny Okenwa Lecturer, Chairman President Generals Enugu State, NYSC Members, Traditional Rulers, Civil Servants, Civil Societies, Media and other institutions were present in the program and applauded NOA for coming out with such program and encouraged everyone to be patriotic citizens to help build Nigeria to a greater height.
The HOD Programmes NOA Enugu Dr. Eucharia Onyia in her vote of thanks commended participants for making out time for the program and encouraged them to utilize well all that were discussed to ensure that our nation restore her lost glory and assured them that NOA shall continue to carry out their mandate to mobilize and sensitize Nigerians about government policies and programs and as well gets feedback to government to react on it for a better Nigeria.
