The state Director NOA Enugu Mrs. Clara Chinyere Nwachukwu with her management staff on October 30, 2024 was at Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) zonal office Enugu and at Federal Radio Cooperation Of Nigeria (FRCN) Zonal office Enugu to partner with them in the ongoing NOA Nationwide program on National Anthem and National Value Charter.
The State Director NOA Enugu Mrs. Clara Chinyere Nwachukwu in her address stated that NOA sensitizes the citizens, orientate and mobilize them on government policies, programs and activities.
“We are here for your media house to help the National Orientation Agency in reminding the citizens of those values and symbols that Nigerians have.” “This new administration of President Tinubu saw it better for Nigeria to brought back those our values that Nigerians had regards for”. “Nigerian needs to go back to the good identities they were known for, that is why the old National Anthem was re-adopted and the third stanza has been adopted for national prayer,” she stated.
“Nigerians should stop shifting blames from one person to another, we can’t continue that way”, Mrs. Nwachukwu noted. “To help set the country right again the NOA Director General Mallam Lanre Issa Oniru has to call all his staff from National Headquarters to the Local Government level to go out and let Nigerians know that all those values Nigerians have should be called back.” “We should go back to what we are know for, respect our symbol that unites us,” the NOA Enugu State Director added.
Dr. Eucharia Onyia, HOD Programmes and Deputy Director NOA Enugu in her own input emphasized that federal government in her efforts to re-build Nigeria and her citizens have decided to include the National Values Charter and National Symbols in the school curriculum from primary to higher institution level as citizen course and compulsory course in the higher institution.
“Government have also decided to make it mandatory as from this year, cartoon animation should be nationalised, the content will now be local content rather than foreign”. “Whatever is going to display will capture our aspiration,” she said.
Dr. Onyia noted that elected or appointed officials of the nation will after elected or appointed have to go under a course on the Value Charter to know what they are going in that position to do and understand they are going to represent the people and not going there for themselves and understand the principles of accountability and stewardship.” ” This National Value Charter will be part of NYSC and ITF training to redeem the image of our country,” she said.
“This program started October 2024 and will last till December and more programs coming up to set our country well, and we can not achieve it alone, that is why we came to partner with our sister Agency NTA and FRCN Enugu to help disseminate the information to people,” the HOD Programmes and Deputy Director NOA Enugu Dr. Onyia stated.
The Zonal Director NTA Enugu Nwadi Elobuike in her remarks welcomed NOA and applauded them for coming out with such good program. She assured them of partnering with NOA and advised to make out jingle on the program to help broadcast the message more to people.
Ikechukwu Emmanuel Eze, Zonal Director FRCN Enugu also commended NOA for the program. He said it is not a one man show but with all their stations in the South East zone he assured that the message will get to the grassroot. The Zonal Director FRCN advised that to make it sustainable NOA should take a weekly program at a token amount to air it in other to internalize the message.
