In line with the state government’s reaffirmation to improve the health facilities in the state, the governor has flagged-off the construction of a 300 bedded hospital located at the rangers Avenue, Enugu.
The flag-off which took place today the 4th of November, when completed will offer advanced and speclised health care services
The governor in his speech said, the hospital was carefully designed to mop up the market sphare in the medical tourism space.
He stated that the hospital when completed, will address the challenges at the tertiary level of medicare in other to ensure full health care services at the primary and secondary levels, bearing in mind that 260 primary healthcare hospitals are being constructed in 260 wards and another 22 cottage hospitals being built and equipped in the state as well as 9 type 3 hospitals in the state.
Mbah also said when the hospital is completed, the frequent travelling for medical tourism in Nigeria will come to an end as the hospital will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities that would attract top-notch professionals.
He said the expected completion time for the project is 13 months.
Earlier, the Chairman of Enugu North local government Area, Ibenaku Onoh commended the governor’s griant strides in the over all development of the state.
Also, commissioner for health, prof, Ikechukwu obi and the special adviser to the Governor on project development and implementation Uche Nwosu said the state is the establish such in the country.
The project contractor Anthony Nader promised to deliver the project in 13 months.
