Enugu state police command has arrested two suspected killers of the chairman if the ogbete main market tradres association (OMMATA) in Enugu, Mr Stephen Aniagu
The incident happened on the 14th of September 2024 at Moses Ogbodo Junction near Top land market in Amechi Area of Enugu South local government Area.
Parading the suspects, on Friday, the DSP Dan Ndukwe, the police spoke person said they were arrested through diligent intelligence work and co-ordinated effort between police detective of the Anti robbery section of the state CID and operatives of the Anti kidnapping tactical squard of the command.
Ndukwe who gave the names of the suspects as Chukwudi Aboshi, 28 years old native of Anike in Ikwo local government of Ebonyi state and Ani innocent Ebuka a driver and native of Isigwe -Ugbawka in Nkanu East local government Area said they were arrested in Akwuke Awkunanaw in Enugu South local government Area on November 8th and 9th 2024 respectively.
The suspects confessed to other crimes during interrogation and also mentioned names of the other gang members that are at large.
Obinna Nnamani (Male) of Ndiagu Ogbo Ezinne Akpugo in Nkanu West local government Area.. Miracle(Male) of Mmaku community in Awgu, Okoro Chisom(*male) of Awgu, Isreal (male), Pius Anoja (male) ,Chief priest of the Criminal group from Mmaku community in Awgu.
The suspects are assisting the police in the on going investigation to apprend the mentioned accomplice on the run and to recover the stolen vehicles and tools used in committing these crime.
Meanwhile the police commissioner has reaffirmed commitment to apprend all individuals involved in the crime and continued protection of lives and properties.
