The Concerned indigenes of Ndiagu Uwani and Ndiuno Uwani Communities in AKPUGO who returned home during the last Christmas Holiday had warned Mr. Frank Anioma and Mr. Okey Mbah to desist from sponsoring and instigating their Ishienu Amagunze Community people from writing disjointed Letters to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria against the two National Figures of AKPUGO and Nkanu Land by extension.
This warning came after their heavily populated Extra ordinary meeting held before their departure to their respective destinations.
They deliberated extensively on the parcel of their Land which is already hosting the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Biomass Methanol Plant Project.
They warned against the claims of the Ishienu Amagunze Community which was contained in a petition published in ‘The Sun’ Newspaper of 17th December, 2024 and which the Concerned Diasporians strongly believed was a ploy by the two aforementioned mischief makers to instigate inter communal crisis in Nkanu land, and at same time smear the hard earned image and character of the two illustrious Sons of Akpugo in the persons of Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji – (NWAKAIBIE) and Rt. Hon. Nnolim Nnaji – (Ozoigbondu).
The Concerned Diasporians through their Leader, Surveyor Charles Izuchukwu Ogbodo, stated that Ndiagu Uwani and Ndiuno Uwani were the two Communities that made up Akpugo Ward – 5, and that the Land in question is their communal Land.
They equally stated that the Honourable Minister and the Member Representing Nkanu East/West Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives as pointed out by the petitioners are not the indigenes of Uwani Communities in Akpugo, and cannot annex their ancestral Land.
They however stated that the Honourable Minister is only doing them a historic great Favour by choosing their Community for the Biomass Methanol Plant Project and it is on that vein that their Community ceded their Land to the Energy Commission of Nigeria which is an Agency under the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology for the Methanol plant.
They equally made it categorically Clear that they never shared common boundary with the people of Ishienu Amagunze Community on the said parcel of their Land called “Eziebe Forest” but rather shared common boundary with Obinagu Uwani Community in Akpugo Ward – 1, and Ihuokpara Community, they therefore called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to go ahead with their project as it will bring development and empowerment to their people, Nkanu Land and Enugu State at large.
They went further to state that they are bonafide Citizens of Nigeria and are entitled to the dividends of democracy, and therefore, happily welcomed the citing of the Biomass Methanol Plant Project in their Community for job creation and economic emancipation of their people under the Renewed Hope vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
They therefore warned in strong terms, for the people of Ishienu Amagunze Community to henceforth desist from conniving with some mischievous elements like Mr. Okey Mbah and Frank Anioma to avoid mistakes capable of denying them this huge opportunity of hosting the Methanol Plant, by insinuating that the Honourable Minister ought to have set the project in their own Community.
The Concerned Diasporians therefore appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology to ignore the distractions coming from the camp of the disgruntled elements and continue with the project as planned.
They at the same time appealed to the Governor of Enugu State to use his good office to call the people of Ishienu Amagunze Community to order and restrict them from encroaching any of the Land of the Uwani Communities in Akpugo, including the one hosting the Biomass Methanol Plant Project.
They unanimously vowed not to allow this golden opportunity of hosting the Federal Government Project to slip their Land while they they equally agreed to defend and protect every inch of their Land in due course.
