GAC SPEAKS ON ALLEGED INVOLVEMENT IN OBASA’S REMOVAL.

The governance advisory Council has reacted to its reported involvement in the removal of Mudashiru Obasa as the speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The reaction of the highest advisory body to the Lagos State Governor spoke through its Chairman, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, on Friday.

Olusi said the council was not consulted before the impeachment of Obasa.

Speaking with newsmen in an interview at his residence, he said that lawmakers neither consulted the ruling party in the state, All Progressives Congress, nor the council.“We are going to do all within our powers to resolve the dispute.

“The overall responsibility is on the party.”

Obasa, who spoke with reporters shortly after he arrived at the assembly complex with some security personnel, said he had returned to the assembly to take charge.

The visit was Obasa’s first appearance at the complex after he was impeached by his colleagues in January over alleged misconduct and financial impropriety. The impeached speaker returned on a day the security details of Meranda were withdrawn.
