The immediate past Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology Chief Uche Nnaji, Nwakaibeya has approved funds for the immediate release of corpses abandoned at the Eastern Nigeria medical centre Enugu to their respected families.
Chief Uche Nnaji Nwakaibeya is embarking on this gesture as a mark of honour for his deceased mother whose corpse is currently laying at the facility.
The project which commenced yesterday Tuesday 3rd March 2026, will continue until his mother’s corpse eventually leaves the facility on March 20, 2026.
Nwakaibeya intends to relieve many poor families who have abandoned corpses of their relatives and loved ones at Eastern Nigerian medical centre due to debt.
If you know any family who wish to take advantage of this development, kindly direct them to the mortuary attendant at Eastern Nigeria Medical Centre, Enugu state, for immediate verification, he said.
People in the state commended him for this work of mercy.
