FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FLAGS OFF ECONOMIC ENPOWERNMENT PROG FOR ONE THOUSAND PETTY TRADERS.

The flag off which was done at the Okpara square Enugu, witnessed one thousand participants from various local government areas of the state.

The First lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Sen Oluremi Tinubu whose address was read by Her Excellency Mrs Nkechiyere Mbah, commended the women.

The programme which she said is aimed towards continued infrastructure to drive economic growth towards a better life for families was taking place simultaneously in all the Thirty six states of the federation including FCT.

She said due to the economic challenges faced by small and medium enterprises business especially the petty traders, the Renewed Hope initiative economic empowerment programme is providing one thousand selected petty traders with fifty thousand naira each to recapitalise their business.

A total of one billion, eight hundred and fifty million naira will be disbursed to 37 thousand women petty traders across the Nation.

The Economic empowerment which she said is a core objective of tĥe renewed hope initative is to assit them in overcoming some of their challenges, expand their business, create more jobs and contribute more to the economy.

The first lady of the state, Mrs Nkechiyere Mbah commended the initiative.

She said the auspices of the Renewed hope initiative with the motto “Towards a better life for families” is not just a financial support, but a symbol of hope designed to uplift those who are often overlooked to ensure that no one is left behind.

To the beneficiaries, she said the grant is a financial boost and opportunity to expand their business, improve their livehood.

She urged them to use the money wisely.

Earlier, one of the resources persons Mrs Rachel Obigeli Edeh, Founder of God’s women at work, enjoined women to be good ambassador whenever they find themselves. She encouraged them to always show positive attitude in the market.

Also, the SPA on health, Dr Jaye, spoke on some health tips that will help in keeping them healthy always.

Cheques of fifty thousand was presented to the beneficiaries by the first of the state, Mrs Nkechiyere Mbah..
