The state Director NOA Enugu Mrs. Clara Chinyere Nwachukwu and her Deputy Director, HOD Programmes Dr. Eucharia Onyia on October 8, 2024 organized a press conference on the sensitization programme on the Nigeria ‘s readopted National Anthem and National Values Charter at the NOA conference hall Federal Secretariat Complex Enugu, Enugu State.
In the quest to achieve Mr. President efforts to build Nigerians to build Nigeria through sensitization and reorientation campaigns, the state Director NOA Enugu State is kick-starting a three month state-wide sensitization and public enlightenment campaign on Nigeria’s National Anthem and National Value Charter. The aim is to re-orientate and redirect Nigerians, regardless of class, ethnicity, or religion toward the values and principles that have long been associated with our culture and have been the foundation of our institutions and society Mrs. Nwachukwu stated.
The NOA Enugu State boss Mrs. Clara Chinyere Nwachukwu in her speeches elaborated that the introduction of the readopted National Anthem and the National Values Charter is an important milestone for national pride and identity, also a potent call for harmony, equity, and prosperity among Nigerians.
Mrs. Clara added that the sensitization is more than just a campaign. It is a movement that calls upon each of us as Nigerians to imbibe the shared values and spirit reflecting in both our National Anthem and National Values Charter.
“Nigeria of our dreams can be achieved as we get united, respect and commitment to these values” she said.
The Deputy Director and HOD Programmes Dr. Eucharia Onyia in her address emphasized that National Anthem is one of the Nigeria’s symbol of authority, power, just like the national flag, coat of arm, and other national symbols. National Value Charter is about attitude, character, expectations, commitment, responsibilities, nationalism and patriotism she noted.
“The character of the citizens is the true determinant of a national well being, a nations prosperity is dependent on the values and attitudes of her citizens” she said.
Dr. Onyia noted that the third stanza of the National Anthem has been adopted as the national prayer in all government events, international events, sporting events and others.
Participants from different media, NOA staff and people from other works of life applauded NOA for coming out with such sensitization programme to help achieve a better Nigeria and assured of contributing their own quota to achieve the good objective of NOA on the programme.
