Nkanu leaders in Enugu East Local government Area are angry with Gov Peter Mbah for trying to frustrate Federal government investment in their land.
The forty billion Naira bio methanol project which happens to be the biggest of its kind in West Africa and capable of solving most of the industrial needs of Nigeria and Africa.
It is also the biggest project initiated by president Bola Tinubu in the entire South East .
Chief John Ogbodo one of the leaders interviewed at the site when our correspondents visited the site said that it is obvious the non performing governor Mba is intimidated by the project attracted by the performing hard working Chief Uche Nnaji which is a far cry from the audio projects of the governor.
The project and the 60 billion naira solar PV project also attracted to the land by same Uche Nnaji have the combined capacity to provide employment to the teaming unemployed youths of Enugu and transform the economy of Enugu and South East in general.
It is obvious the governor frustrated by the impact of the projects wants to frustrate the take off because of its impact come 2027.
It is most regrettable that Gov Peter Mba has not learnt from history for in 1981 the then Gov Jim Nwobodo was busy frustrating all projects attracted by Dr Alex Ekwueme Vice President Federal Republic of Nigeria, While Sam Mbakwe was co-operating with the Federal government to attract projects to Imo state.
Even federal roads were suspended by the Anambra state government and at the end of the day Jim Nwobodo was removed by federal might while Mbakwe survived.
This whole drama portends an interesting 2027 governorship contest and he wants to ensure that the projects are frustrated since all his much publicized projects like the 260 smart school in each ward, water in Enugu metropolis in 180 days, 10,000km of roads in one year, sea port at Uzo-Uwani and dredging of the waterway from Nkanu to Ezza,
the 40billion dollars economy all seem unachievable as he has 2years five months left and has not achieved one percent of his electoral promises. Even the International Conference that centre that he repainted and completed the entrance roads and landscaping was built and completed in 2007 by Chimaroke Nnamani.
They called on the governor to desist from obstructing the life changing project Attracted By their illustrious son in any guise.
