PRESS RELEASE: RECEPTION OF HON TONY CHIGBO INTO APC ENUGU STATE.
In continuation of the political evengelism, yesterday 9th February 2025, The leadership of All Progressive Congress (APC), Enugu State stormed Uvuru ward in Uzo Uwani LGA of Enugu State
The leader of the party and the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology Chief Uche Nnaji (Nwakibie) in company of the State Chairman of APC Enugu State, Hon Barr Ugochukwu H. Agballah (Ebeaneje) and a host of other party Chieftains were on ground to receive a former LGA Chairman and two time member of the Enugu State house of assembly Hon Tony Chigbo and his supporters into the fold of the APC.
In attendance at the event were members of the State Organizing secretary Hon Emeka Eze, State Treasurer Hon Jude Aniogbo, State Auditor Hon Offordile, State Assistant Secretary Hon Walter Madu, State Legal adviser Barr Vincent Chieyine, the State financial Secretary Hon Louis Agbo, the Zonal Chairman of Enugu North APC Hon Chimezie Bright, the Party Chairman of Uzo Uwani LGA Hon Christopher Ajodo, the State Woman Leader Dr Mrs Amaka Onu, the Enugu North Zonal woman leader Hon Juliet Arum and other party executive from the Enugu North Senatorial Zone.
Stakeholders that graced the occasion are the Dr Tony Nebo, Pro chancellor of Alex Ekwueme University Ndufu-Alike, Hon Eva Asadu Executive director Engineering Imo River basin authority, Hon Chidi Ogbodo, Chief Cypon Nnaji, Hon Brian Ofordu, Pharmacist Francis Nebo and a host of other eminent party Chieftains.
In his Opening remarks, the State Chairman the Hon Barr Ugochukwu H. Agballah appreciated the leader of the party Chief Uche Nnaji for his unflinching support for the restructuring of the party. He went further to describe Chief Uche Nnaji as a man of integrity and eulogized him as a true pillar and support to the party in the State and also commended him on his numerous strides in the repositioning of the Ministry of Innovation Science and Technology.
Barr Agballah also commended about the new entrant Hon Tony Chigbo whom he described as an upright political juggernaut and a major force in the politics of Uzo Uwani LGA.
Barr Agballah called on party faithfuls to emulate Hon Tony Chigbo by bringing in men of substance into the party. He urged party faithfuls to be steadfast and committed to the party and eshew all forms of anti party activities and indiscipline that is inimical to the growth of the party.
The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of the symbol of the party, APC flag and broom to Hon Tony Chigbo by the leader of the party and Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology Chief Uche Nnaji. While presenting the party flag Chief Nnaji encouraged him to always uphold the party’s symbol and to use his good position and resources to keep promoting the party in Uzo Uwani LGA, Enugu State and Nigeria at large.
In his response, Hon Tony Chigbo assured the party leaders that he will use all resources at his disposal to grow the party in Uzo Uwani Local government area and vow to ensure total victory for APC Come 2027.
