Enugu Youths Hail Ministry of Innovation, Science & Technology For Launching 3rd Phase Of Solar Installation Training& Empowerment Program.

In a remarkable demonstration of federal impact at the grassroots, Eke in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State became the epicenter of progress and promise, as the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) rolled out the third phase of its dynamic 5-day Youth Solar Installation Training and Empowerment Programme.

This initiative wasn’t just another training it was a gateway to sustainable change and generational advancement.

At the heart of this life-changing project stands the unmatched leadership of the Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji (Nwakaibeya), working in synergy with the strategic stewardship of the APC Enugu State Chairman, Barr. Ugochukwu Agballah (Ebeaneje).

Backed solidly by the bold and youth-focused agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, this collaboration is proof that with the right leadership, empowerment becomes inevitable.

Participants, largely drawn from the youth structure across Enugu State, were exposed to practical and intensive training in solar power system design, installation, and maintenance.

This wasn’t just skill acquisition, it was an investment in future engineers, innovators, and clean energy entrepreneurs who will carry Nigeria’s sustainability vision forward.

What sets this empowerment drive apart is not only the high-level instruction delivered, but the strategic post-training support provided.

Each participant was handed a complete solar toolkit, professional-grade safety gear, and a startup grant—tools designed not for display, but for deployment.

They didn’t just leave as trainees they walked away as empowered solution providers, ready to deliver real value to homes, businesses, and communities.

This third phase builds upon previous successes and deepens the ECN’s commitment to sustainable youth development through renewable energy. It reinforces a replicable empowerment model that addresses unemployment while advancing Nigeria’s clean energy goals.

Through this initiative, the narrative is shifting, from dependency to destiny.

The Enugu State youths wholeheartedly applauds the Honourable Minister Chief Uche Nnaji, the State Chairman Barr. Ugochukwu Agballah, and our President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for nurturing the vision and willpower that continue to elevate our youth from passive spectators to active drivers of progress.

We are witnessing more than a training, we are witnessing a movement. With light in their hands and purpose in their hearts, these youths now return to their communities not only to earn, but to empower.

Their hands now hold tools, but their minds hold fire—the fire of possibility.
