The tides have changed. And today, Nigeria is on course to join the league as the G8, thanks to the bold leadership of Chief Uche Nnaji, Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology.
Like a lion, he is bold, assertive, focused, and transformational—repositioning Nigeria’s innovation and technology sector as a major job creator and income earner to replace Nigerias over dependence on oil and gas as major income earner. Renewed Hope Through Innovation
HEALTHCARE REVOLUTION :
Nigeria will soon produce local insulin, reducing dependence on costly imports, saving millions of lives, and building a new revenue base.
AGRICULTURAL TRANSFORMATION:
Farmers in the cassava and sugarcane belts are returning to their farms, spurred by the promise of bioethanol production. Nigeria has also signed a landmark agreement with Brazil to boost technical capacity and expand bioethanol production.
FOOD SECURITY:
With all-season Tela maize, Nigeria will drastically cut corn imports and expand local industries. This will power the production of cereals, corn syrup, industrial starch, and pharmaceutical derivatives—creating jobs, revenue, and healthier nutrition from homegrown factories.
LEATHER & FASHION INDUSTRY:
The revival of the tanning industry, supported by feedstock from camels, horses, and donkeys, will power both exports and affordable local production. Millions of school sandals and shoes will be produced locally, generating significant gains across the leather value chain.
STEM EDUCATION & ENERGY FUTURE :
The Alternative Energy University will supply skilled experts to Nigeria’s solar PV assembly and hydrogen fuel industries, securing the nation’s place as Africa’s clean energy powerhouse.
A NEW ERA OF GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS
Investor confidence in Nigeria’s innovation sector has risen by over 1000%. Partnerships with innovators, scientists, and technology giants from Europe, Asia, and America are pouring in—unseen in Nigeria for the past 25 years.
In the wake of renewed tariff wars between the USA and China, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria visited the Ministry to align with Chief Nnaji’s bold initiatives. Chinese technology companies have expressed readiness to establish manufacturing hubs in Nigeria—positioning the country as Africa’s low-cost production and export base.
