President Bola Tinubu on Thursday administered the oath of office to Dr Bernard Doro and Dr Kingsley Udeh, officially inducting both men into the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
The swearing-in ceremony, held at 1:52 p.m. inside the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, took place shortly before the commencement of the first FEC meeting since July 2025.
With their induction, Plateau and Enugu—two states that had been without ministerial representation for several weeks—now have their seats restored in the federal cabinet.
Dr Bernard Doro, a UK-trained clinical practitioner and public health administrator, was nominated on October 21 to replace Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who vacated his position as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction following his emergence as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on July 31.
Hailing from Kwall in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Doro boasts over two decades of experience in clinical medicine, pharmacy, and technology-driven health strategy. According to the Presidency, he holds multiple degrees in Pharmacy, Law, and Advanced Clinical Practice, and has worked extensively with the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS).
Dr Kingsley Udeh, until recently the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Enugu State, was sworn in to replace Uche Nnaji, the former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, who resigned on October 7 amid controversies surrounding his academic credentials.
Thursday’s ceremony marks a key step in restoring full representation within Tinubu’s cabinet as the administration prepares to resume regular FEC sessions and policy deliberations.
