Breaking News: PDP Supporters Attacked At Ibagwa-Aka By Suspected APC Thugs

Tension erupted in Ibagwa Aka Ward, Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, following a report that thugs affiliated with the APC, with the support of local vigilante operatives, attacked and vandalized canopies and other properties belonging to the PDP.

The incident reportedly occurred as PDP supporters gathered in large numbers to receive their senatorial candidate, Dr. Nesto Ezema, who was accompanied by former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology and PDP governorship candidate, Chief Uche Nnaji, during a campaign visit ahead of the forthcoming Enugu North Senatorial District by-election.
Party supporters condemned the incident, describing it as an act of political intimidation capable of undermining the democratic process. They expressed concern that if such actions are not properly addressed, they could heighten political tension and threaten the peaceful conduct of the electoral process.
Addressing his supporters, Chief Uche Nnaji urged them to remain calm, law-abiding, and focused on the campaign, assuring them of his commitment to safeguarding their interests and ensuring that democratic principles prevail.

Our resolve to recover Enugu is non-negotiable and we won’t be intimidated by opportunists.

Observers have warned that the use of intimidation, violence, and the destruction of political opponents’ property has no place in a democratic society and could have far-reaching consequences if allowed to continue unchecked.
