President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday, inaugurated new members of the Nigeria Law Reforms Commission (NLRC) shortly before presiding over the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Council Chambers, was brief but formal. Professor Dakas CJ Dakas was sworn in as Chairman of the NLRC, while Dr. Uchenna Eugene took the oath of office as Commissioner.
Before deliberations commenced, the Council observed a minute of silence in honour of the late Chief Audu Ogbeh, a former Minister of Agriculture and former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who passed away recently.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, paid tribute to Ogbeh, describing him as a patriotic Nigerian whose decades-long service to the country left a lasting impact.
In attendance at the meeting were Vice President Kashim Shettima, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Esther Didi Walson-Jack, National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, as well as ministers and heads of government agencies scheduled to make presentations.
