Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, a prominent figure in the Labour Party (LP) and leader of the Rescue Movement for New Nigeria, has launched a scathing attack on the newly formed political alliance led by the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing it as a coalition of recycled politicians seeking to deceive Nigerians under the guise of national salvation.
In a statement released on Sunday, Joseph dismissed the alliance as a mockery of the people’s intelligence, arguing that the same political actors responsible for Nigeria’s decline are now masquerading as agents of rescue.
> “It is deeply insulting to our collective intelligence. These are the same leaders who helped build the Emilokan governance model now represented by President Bola Tinubu. Now they want to ‘rescue’ Nigeria—from the very wreckage they engineered?” Joseph said.
He criticized the coalition’s motives, describing it as an alliance fueled by desperation and self-interest rather than vision or values.
> “These old political figures had their chance. Instead of serving the people, they enriched themselves. Now, they return under a new banner—not to help, but to preserve their own relevance,” he stated.
Joseph emphasized that Nigeria’s hope for transformation does not rest in political defectors or recycled coalitions, but in the everyday citizens who have long borne the brunt of systemic failure.
> “The next election belongs to the ordinary Nigerian—the youth pushed aside, the market women used and forgotten, the Christians praying for change, and the Muslims demanding justice and national cohesion,” he declared.
Taking direct aim at key players in the coalition, Joseph questioned their credibility and leadership record.
> “Atiku Abubakar can’t even resolve the PDP’s internal crises. Peter Obi has failed to lead the Labour Party effectively. El-Rufai is angry over being denied a ministerial post despite his legacy of pain in Kaduna. And Aregbesola left little of value behind as governor or minister,” he said.
He concluded that the so-called rescue coalition were leaders who are part of the political class that created the national rot that President Tinubu merely inherited.
